Scion x-CHANGE Supports Primary Colours

If you're out and about this weekend October 9-10 (and the weather's supposed to be beautiful), come join us! We'll be at Jimmy John's (845 Broad Ripple Ave. - map) from noon and 8 p.m. each day.

We're part of a nationwide Scion x-CHANGE Fall Tour. Scion's raising money for arts nonprofits across the country in a 30-city tour, and they chose us!

For every dollar you donate to Primary Colours through the end of the tour in November, Scion will match it. What a way to maximize your impact on the local arts community. You can donate online through our Facebook Cause page.

Talented local artist William Denton Ray, a Best in Show winner at our last Allotropy, will paint on a 36”x48” wood panel and selling his art.

Special thanks to Natalie Ingle and Julie Perry who already donated and doubled their gift!

Art vs. Art: BOFFO!

That's the word to describe our best Art vs. Art ever. We’re dying to share some astounding stats:

  • 134 artists competed, which smashed last year’s record of 113.
  • We awarded our largest Grand Prize, $4,000, to 2010 Champ Ryan Alvis.
  • He boldly put his painting up for auction which sold at the highest bid ever made: $1,025!
  • We sold 57 paintings, one shy of last year’s record.
  • We sold more art than ever: $6,350!
  • Sadly, five paintings met their demise through the Wheel of Death.

Did you go? Tell us what you thought and win a gift certificate to The Best Chocolate in Town. Hurry, the survey ends today at 5 p.m.

Didn't make it? Here's a recap.

Send us your links of pix and video you captured at the event, and you could win an Art vs. Art t-shirt!

Thank You, Thank You, Thank You!

Art vs. Art combines great work from many people. We really owe a lot to the following folks who helped make this great event possible:

  • Brian Short and Prizm Art Supply, which supplied all of the art supplies
  • Eric Davis and Butler Scion for his loyal support

  • Expo Design for printing the Wheel of Death
Dane Sauer & Jeff Martin at Centerline Studio for building that ominous contraption
