Installation Nation: Installation Artists Announced
Installation Nation shipping container spaces have been awarded to the following artists: Aaron Nemec & Jordan Cleland, Brandy Graham, Chad Sines, David Yosha, Jacob Stanley, Jeffrey S. Martin, Jessica Dunn & Justin Shimp, Matt & Holly Sommers, Nathan Gorgen.
This year’s event will take place on June 15th and 16th at Service Center, 3819 Lafayette Rd., Indianapolis, IN 46254. Here, art lovers can explore the containers that house installation pieces, which can range from interactive light and sound experiences to more traditional large-scale visual art that makes creative use of the space.
This year’s Installation Nation is the third time the Indianapolis-based arts nonprofit has hosted this exhibition staged outside. At the event, attendees can wander in and out of the containers that house the installation art. Food and beverages from local business will be sold in addition to live music will be part of the event. Admission is $5. Kids under 12 get in free.
Hours of the event are Friday 6 p.m. – 11 p.m. and Saturday 4 – 11 p.m. Food trucks, beverages and kids activities will also be available.
Extended DEADLINE & Bigger is Better: Installation Nation call for artists!
We’ve extended the deadline date to Wednesday, April 25 and we’ve added more bang for your artistic buck by increasing the size of our containers!
Primary Colours presents the return of Installation Nation, a unique installation art event, on June 15-16 2012, at Service Center, 3819 Lafayette Rd., Indianapolis, IN 46254. Visual artists will be chosen to create 12 installation pieces within metal shipping containers in a space measuring 8 ft. wide, 8 ft. high, and 20 ft. long (updated from 8ftx8ftx10ft.)
Artists will need to submit a proposal to create an installation within the confines of a metal shipping container. Among these proposals, Primary Colours will select 12 projects and give each artist $500 to create their vision.
Submission fee for each entry to Installation Nation is $20

All RFP’s must be submitted by April 25, 2012.

Call for Artists – Installation Nation
We’re pleased to present our new event, Installation Nation. We’re inviting all contemporary artists with experience in creating installation art to submit proposals for consideration. We’ll select ten projects and give them each $500 to create their vision within the confines of a metal storage container. Applications are available now. You have until Tuesday, April 28, to submit them to us.
