Join us on December 2 (First Friday) from 6 -10 pm as we showcase amazing works of wonder created by local artists.

This year, we will be accepting donations of new and gently used art supplies on behalf of VSA Indiana. This wonderful organization provides lifelong learning and creative expression through the arts for people with disabilities in Indiana. VSA Indiana (formerly Very Special Arts) has served Hoosiers for nearly 30 years.

NUVO just informed us that they have chosen Primary Colours to receive one of this year’s Cultural Vision Awards. In April 2000, we staged our first event, Allotropy, and 11 years later, we continue to create ways for visual artists and audiences to connect. Thank you, NUVO, for this great honor.

We’re pleased to share the stage on Friday, June 3rd at the Athenauem Theatre with these great 2011 honorees who do so much to make Indianapolis culturally vibrant:

When you’re out and about in Fountain Square each First Friday, we’ll be staffed and stocked, so poke your head in during your gallery rounds, see what we have up our sleeves, and give us your two cents about what we can do for visual arts in Indy.

With the new space, we share a gallery with Mt. Comfort, so expect some great gallery shows in the near future.

Longtime Primary Colours supporter, Indianapolis arts advocate, founding member of IDADA, and all-around great guy, Mark Ruschman stunned the local art scene by announcing on June 12 that he will be closing his gallery after 25 years. The Ruschman Art Gallery has been a destination for exploring the best of the visual arts and a must-stop on First Friday.

You can bet that we’ll be there tonight to celebrate his contribution to the Indianapolis community. Join us.
