Installation Nation Details

in-graphicPrimary Colours presents Installation Nation, a unique installation art event, on June 5-6, 2009 at 500 N. College Ave. Thirteen artists from around the Midwest were selected to create ten installation pieces within five large, metal shipping containers in a space measuring 8 ft. wide, 8 ft. high, and 20 ft. wide.

Admission is $5. Kids under 12 get in free. Hours are 6-11 p.m. on both nights. Street parking is available throughout the area surrounding the event.

At the event, attendees can wander in and out of the containers that house the installation art. Audio Reconnaissance will supply the music, and food and beverages will be sold at the event.

Installation Nation is the tenth event that the Indianapolis-based arts nonprofit has hosted in a donated, vacant space, but it is the first exhibition staged outside on a vacant lot. Lockerbie Park donated the lot that sits on the northwest corner of N. College Ave and E. Michigan St., and the nearby condos will host an open house from 5-7 p.m. during both nights of the event. Because this is an outdoor event, patrons with limited mobility are warned that the gravel lot may pose difficulty.
